James Cameron was the director and writer of the movie and once again proved his abilities as the best director in holly wood breaking his own film’s record.

The story of avatar is about a paraplegic marine who is sent to the moon pandora for a unique mission using his avatar. But on reaching to his supposed enemies he decides to switch sides and found enemy land as his own home. Animation used in the movie is excellent. The film overall was nominated for nine categories in the oscar nominations and won three of the them including the categories of Best art direction, best cinematography and for visual effects.

Gross revenue generated by Avatar is around 2.7 billion dollars, while the budget of the film was just 237 million dollars hence it is all time blockbuster. In US alone it did business of 742 million dollars breaking the record of Titanic of 600 million dollars.

Sony Pictures production stands at second place with revenue of 142.8 million dollars (US alone). The film got good response from the critics as well as from the audience and that was the reason it was able to take place at the second position. Story of the film is extremely good.

Blockbuster movie Taken is also proved to be a big hit and generated revenue of 137.9 million dollars (US alone) and captured the thrid place.
