Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III) is an American rapper, record producer and actor. He is also known with the name of Slim Shady which is actually his alter ego. Eminem rose to fame in 1999 with his breakthrough album Slim Shady LP which got huge success and helped him get his first ever Grammy award for the best rap album of the year. Up to this date, he has sold around 75 million albums worldwide. He also carries the distinction of getting an Academy award for the best original song (Lose Yourself) from his own starring film 8 mile. Eminem is ranked among the 100 best artists of all the times by the Rolling Stone Magazine. He is also known to have conflict with American pop singer Mariah Carey about which he claimed to have relationship but it was denied by her. Eminem released songs Bagpipes form Baghdad and Warning dissing her and her husband Nick.

Eminem’s debut album Slim Shady LP was a world wide hit with production assistance from Dr. Dre. Second album Marshal Mathers LP became the fastest selling rap album of the all the times. It was able to sell 1.76 million in first week of its release. The most successful single from the album was The Real Slim Shady becoming his first single to reach top ten in the United States. And the other single Stan featuring Dido performed very well outside the US. It was certified 9x Platinum in the US alone. It sold around 22 million albums worldwide. The third album released by him was The Eminem Show. Following his success story it was also many times platinum. Successful singles from the album were Without Me, Cleanin’ out My Closet, Superman and Sing for the Moment. Fourth album released was Encore which maintained Eminem’s multiplatinum status with assistance from super hit singles Just Lose It, Like Toy Soldiers, Mocking bird and Encore. It was able to sell four million copies in the US alone. After Two Compilation albums, he released next solo album in the May 2009 entitled Relapse. Single from the album were We Made You, 3 a.m., Crack a bottle feat Dr. Dre & 50 cent and Beautiful.

Eminem also pursued acting career with starring his own film 8 Mile. The film was a success and so that was the acting career. Soundtrack from the album which included songs from different artists was certified 4x Platinum.
